Nearly 500 of their 2,000 employees have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Arc University, for example, is a series of post-secondary style classes that cover topics such as money management, computer skills, and pet care. Participants can earn certificates and even “degrees” based on their involvement. The company also organizes monthly social outings and community service projects, allowing individuals with IDD to give back to their community.
Lloyd’s vision extends far beyond Colorado, with plans to expand Arc Thrift Stores to other states and even internationally. He also serves on various boards, including an affordable housing board and the state disability funding committee, working tirelessly to create more resources and opportunities for people with disabilities.
